Carol Livingston

Carol Livingston

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Professional Experiences and Accomplishments: I was a store manager for a women’s clothing store for 8 years where I hired, fired, promoted and managed 15+ employees and was responsible for budgets, training and loss prevention.  I also served as the office manager for 15 years at the Maria Montessori School in Memphis.

Committee Involvement:

Development Committee
Outbid Auction Committee
Youth Services Committee

Fun/Quirky Piece of Information: I love nature (most especially flowers and snow.)  I love all animals (I have no favorites because they are all equally wonderful.)  I do, however, collect frogs, love my dogs and enjoy bird watching.

Why do you serve on the OUTMemphis Board of Directors?: Since March of 2014, I have served on the Youth Services Committee.  I am a Prysm (ages 13-17 youth group) advisor, I have helped with the implementation of the Metamorphosis project (a transitional housing project for homeless LGBTQ youth) and have assisted with the Center’s first Point-In-Time Homeless Youth count.  I have also participated in the OUTbid 2016 by helping with the décor and soliciting donations. I serve on the board because I am profoundly grateful to be associated with the MGLCC (now OUTMemphis) and the work that this organization does for the Memphis community and beyond.  I want to continue my activism on a larger scale and be able to help my city become more open and welcoming to everyone.
