Position Title: Health & Wellness Operations Manager

Reports to:  Director of Heath of Wellness 

Status: Full Time, Exempt, Permanent 

Compensation: $40,000 – $50,000, plus health benefits, 401(K), and professional development opportunities.

Note: This position requires in-person work at all OUTMemphis facilities and off-site locations, with a flexible schedule. Some remote work hours are permitted. Some evenings and weekends included.

Start Date: Immediately


The Health & Wellness Operations Manager supports the mission of OUTMemphis and its wide-ranging health and wellness services. This includes but is not limited to developing a community health and wellness program that is integrated with data tracking, grant requirements, and evaluation. In addition to numerous operational responsibilities to ensure the efficacy of the wellness services, this position development, implements, and monitors nutritional programs for LGBTQ+ individuals. This role includes supporting our sexual health programs and the development of a nutritional program. The tracking of data to evaluate the needs for programs and services for our sexual and health and wellness programming for the LGBTQ+ community is an integral part of this job position. This position will identify opportunities for participation in agency-specific and regional or national research initiatives as well as supporting all partnership efforts. This position works consistently in partnership with the Community Manager & Volunteer Coordinator to manage that needs are met for scheduling, expenses, facilities, and administrative stability for OUTMemphis’s Community Center and Programs. The Health & Wellness Manager reports to the Director of Health and Wellness and works alongside OUTMemphis staff to ensure the impact and efficiency of measurable health and wellness deliverables for our LGBTQ+ community.


  • Providing oversight for our sexual health government grant program, including the Ending the HIV Epidemic grant, Ryan White Foundation grants, and other county, state, and federal HIV programs.
  • Support and work alongside the Community Center & Metamorphosis Project staff and volunteers to develop and implement nutritional and health and wellness programming and services, for on- and off-site services.
  • Maintain accurate and current data tracking for sexual health and all health and wellness programming.
  • Work alongside the Director of Youth Emergency Services, Sexual Health Specialist, Trans Services Specialist, and Volunteer Coordinator/Community Manager to implement educational and supportive programming for the LGBTQ+ community. 
  • In collaboration with the Sexual Health Specialist and Director of Health & Wellness, create and implement effective health interventions.
  • Identify avenues to participate in city, county, and regional discussions around policy and advocacy around sexual health and health and wellness issues that impact our community.  Staff the OUTMemphis Community Center in collaboration with staff team


  • Bachelor’s degree in any related field or work experience in education, health, or the nonprofit sector.
    • A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a social service, educational, or health related setting preferred
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills.   
  • Excellent computer skills including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets, and other software systems; experience with data entry preferred.    
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds including age, gender, sexual orientation, education, and ethnicity, in a multicultural environment. 
  • Knowledgeable and sensitive to the issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, asexual, intersex, and questioning youth and adults. Specific knowledge about black and brown queer and trans issues in the Mid-South, including HIV, homelessness, over incarceration, sex work, family conflict, and other experiences preferred. 
  • Must be able to collaborate and work with diverse constituencies in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Must have strong customer service instincts and de-escalation skills.

The schedule for this position will require some night and weekend hours.
