Trans Awareness Week is Nov 14th through Nov 20th and the Transgender Services Committee at OUTMemphis has a series of events planned. Check out the flyer (left) and mark your calendar.

  • Monday, 11/14:
    • Trans Awareness Week: Prayer Vigil and Flag Ceremony, 6:00p-7:00p: Join us for a prayer vigil and flag lowering to honor the trans lives lost this year. For more information email Kayla Gore, Transgender Services Specialist.
  • Tuesday, 11/15:
    • Trans Awareness Week: Trans Day of Service, 4:00p-5:00p at First Congregational Church (1000 S. Cooper St): For Trans Day of Service we are meeting at First Congregational Church to prepare sack lunches. For more information email Kayla Gore, Transgender Services Specialist.
  • Wednesday, 11/16:
    • Trans Awareness Week: “A Woman with a Physical Problem”, 5:00p-7:00p, at Cossitt Library (33 S. Front St): Join us for a screening of “A Woman with a Physical Problem”, a documentary featuring four Memphis transgender women.  For more information email Kayla Gore, Transgender Services Specialist.
  • Thursday, 11/17:
    • Trans Awareness Week: Day of Reflection/Ice Cream Social, 7:30p-9:30p: This time of year can be difficult for transgender people, their allies, and their families.
