Aura’s job as Case Manager for the Youth Emergency Center’s Metamorphosis project is to assist youth 18-24 with rehousing, transportation, education needs, and problem-solving. What drives Aura to come to work is knowing that through OUTMemphis she is walking in her purpose of serving her allies, friends, and community and working to give them at least part of the life that they deserve. Aura decided to work at OUTMemphis because she saw how the organization was radiating a much-needed healing energy to Memphis’s queer community, and she just had to contribute as much as she could. She hopes that the future of OUTMemphis looks like more partnerships, resources, and larger buildings to fit our growing and flourishing population of youth.
