Raven Cohen,

Metamorphosis Project Case Manager

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Raven is our new part-time Metamorphosis Project Case Manager. As the Metamorphosis Case Manager, her role is to help LGBTQIA+ youth experiencing homelessness by facilitating services in either the Rapid Re-Housing Program, Youth Emergency Services (YES), or the Youth Emergency Center (YEC). Her goal is to support our participants by drawing on their own strengths and capabilities and help them transition to independence. In addition to providing case management services, she will be providing general support and affirmative counseling during our participants critical time of transition. As a member of the community herself, she has a special investment in working with the LGBTQIA+ community. “Figuring stuff out as an LGBTQIA+ person can be draining sometimes. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can be vulnerable. In our work together, I will listen and work with you collaboratively. No more feeling left alone.”

Raven is originally from North Haven, CT but has lived in Memphis for the past 8 years. She comes to us with a background in school psychology and clinical mental health counseling, having worked in the school system and several treatment centers in the Memphis area. Raven came to OUTMemphis initially as a counseling intern while working towards her PhD in counseling psychology. “I was thrilled when I was asked to join the team at OUTMemphis, who truly create and foster an inclusive, safe, welcoming and affirming environment for all individuals who walk through their doors.” She is excited and passionate about being in this new role to continue to work alongside OUTMemphis staff, community members, and participants to help ensure greater access to safe and stable housing and support services. Raven hopes to continue to proactively promote the rights and well-being of LGBTQIA+ people in her professional work and personal endeavors.
