In my 20+-year career, I have worked in manufacturing, transportation/distribution, banking, retail, hospitality/leisure, consumer services, and nonprofit. Prior to my board experience with OUTMemphis, I served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Friends For Life corporation and led the MAGY (Memphis Area Gay Youth) organization.

Committee Involvement:  Governance Committee

Fun/Quirky Piece of Information: I auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera when I was 17 years old and made it to the semi-finals, which resulted in seven voice scholarships to universities in the U.S. Also, I had quite a cosmopolitan upbringing. My dad was a Merchant Marine who circled the globe multiple times and our home was filled with treasures from his travels. My mother was from Guatemala and I spent my first 15 summers there (yes, I’m bilingual Spanish). My great uncle was president of Guatemala for three of those years.

Why do you serve on the OUTMemphis Board of Directors?: I believe in the OUTMemphis mission and want to apply my skills, experiences, and passion for LGBTQ+ awareness to advance it.
