Senior Director, Health and Evaluation

Pronouns: He/Him/His

As the Senior Director of Health and Evaluation, I am the chief officer of health programming, OUTMemphis’s trainings, curricula, and evaluation. Health programming will soon include the following health areas: sexual health, mental health, intimate partner violence, substance abuse, spiritual health, and physical health (body image, nutrition, and fitness). The position serves to identify and maintain health-related grants, program development, and evaluation needs. Currently, the sexual health program and transgender services program are supervised under this position. My work is devoted to ensuring that sexual health, particularly HIV prevention and care remains a priority in both the LGBTQ and Memphis communities. Thus, effective and innovative HIV testing, outreach, education, linkage to care, and research are essential to my work efforts. My love for sexual health, public health, research, education, service, and working with various communities are all reasons why I’ve been involved with OUTMemphis for ten years.

HIV disproportionately affects communities of color and the LGBTQ community; thus, I knew that OUTMemphis would be the perfect place to cultivate my passions for both HIV prevention and the LGBTQ community. OUTMemphis was the perfect foundation to combine my academic and professional aspirations. I look forward to expanding OUTMemphis’s health programming in an effort to address other health issues that are impacting our local LGBTQ community. In addition, I envision a community that embraces healthy living, diversity, mentorship, advocacy, research, and self/community pride.
