Fun/Quirky Piece of Information: “I once chased off a wolf from my Gatlinburg cabin with a samurai sword. Don’t ask.”

Why do you serve on the OUTMemphis Board of Directors?: “OUTMemphis was there for me when it was the Memphis Gay and Lesbian Community Center. I knew very little about being a part of the LGBTQ+ community, and the staff were there to teach me. The community I found there helped shape my trajectory. They gave me a home to belong to. I grew to respect the different groups that all contributed an invaluable resource to our beloved city and marveled at the grit it took to run a nonprofit here. Now, in a wonderful twist of fate, I have the chance to give back to this same organization that embraced me long ago. It is an honor and a privilege to support our awesome staff, engage our community partners, encourage our board members, and empower our people. I believe in helping to preserve the best of our past by learning from those who came before us and securing the future for those who come after us. I don’t know everything, but I promise to listen and serve to the best of my ability.”
