Position Title: Community Center Coordinator (Part-Time)
Reports to: Director of Programs & Community Engagement
Status: Non-exempt, Part-Time
Start Date: Immediately
Compensation: $15 per hour

SUMMARY:
The OUTMemphis Community Center Coordinator will provide support for daily operations of the
OUTMemphis Community Center. This role will include front desk duties, such as answering phones,
checking voicemails and emails, greeting guests and navigating participants to CC services, scheduling
appointments, answering questions from visitors, updating calendars, etc. The Community Center
Coordinator will also support the Community Meals Program by cooking and serving meals, planning
menus, prep, set-up and clean-up. The Community Center Coordinator will be responsible for
maintaining general cleanliness of the center through completion of cleaning checklists, assist with setup/tear-down of events and programs (MealPREP, Homework Help, HIV/HCV Testing, Community
Meals, ArTeastic, PRYSM, etc.), and serve as a source of information for visitors of the center with
questions. The Community Center Coordinator will work directly with the Director of Programs &
Community Engagement to maintain a welcoming, affirming and engaging space for community
members at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist in daily operations of the Community Center, including daily cleaning, safety checks, basic
maintenance, and organization of the space
• Support the Front Desk through phone duties, welcoming visitors, scheduling appointments,
managing sign-in and sign-out, checking and replying to emails, etc.
• Provide assistance and information to visitors in need of resources
• Assist in all needs of the Community Meals Program, including cooking/serving meals, creating
menus, set-up/tear-down, etc.
• Ensure the safety of staff and visitors by effectively communicating policies and procedures of
the center
• Communicate observations and interactions with community members with leadership staff, in
order to incorporate community feedback into polices, practices and procedures
• Participate in all departmental and organizational meetings and relevant trainings as required
• Assist with data collection for the Community Center, through managing the front desk signin/out station
• Assist all Visitors in accessing the services of the Community Center participants, including food,
hygiene, testing, etc.
• Assisting in facilitating all programming and events occurring at the Community Center
• Build supportive relationships with community members and act as an advocate for their needs
and experiences

CORE COMPETENCIES:
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including strong organizational, conflict
resolution, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills including word processing, email, database operations, spreadsheets, and
other software systems.
• Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality while working with all members
of the community
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds including age,
ability, gender identity & expression, sexual orientation, education, and ethnicity, in an
intersectional environment.
• Knowledgeable and sensitive to the issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, queer, asexual,
intersex, transgender, and questioning, youth and adults.
