  • Monday, 10/8:
    • Perpetual Transition, 6:00p-7:30p: Perpetual Transition is a support and social group for transgender people in the Memphis metropolitan area that has been meeting since 2005. Perpetual Transition is safe and confidential, and is open to transgender people of any variety. For more information email Kayla Gore, Transgender Services Specialist.
    • HIV testing, 6:00p-9:00p: Need an HIV test? Come to OUTMemphis and get a free, rapid, oral swab HIV test. No blood and your results will be ready in 20 minutes. For more information, email Martavius Hampton, Sexual Health Program Director.
    • El Canto del Colibri: The Song of the Hummingbird, 7:00p-9:30p, National Civil Rights Museum (450 Mulberry St, Memphis, TN, 38103): This documentary gives an intimate and deeply personal look into immigrant Latino fathers across the U.S. as they recount the impact of their children’s coming out.   • Tuesday, 10/9:
    • Volunteer Orientation, 5:00p-6:00p: Want to volunteer with OUTMemphis? To get started, register here and then join us for Volunteer Orientation. For more information email Elokin CaPece, Director of Programs
    • Queer Loteria, 7:00p-9:00p: Please join us for a fun game night of Loteria at OUTMemphis with great music and some yummy Mexican inspired desserts. This traditional Mexican Game, is similar to BINGO with images. New and experienced players are welcome! We will teach you how to play and it is very easy to learn.   • Wednesday, 10/10:

    • Meristem Women’s Book Club, 7:00p-9:00p: The purpose of the book club is to read and explore written works by women and LGBT authors, and to foster a community of support with like-minded women. Membership is open to women (LBT and straight-identified) in the Memphis area who want to read and discuss books by women and LGBT authors. For more information, check out our website or contact us.
    • Stories from the Closet; Cuentos del Closet, 7:00p-8:30p, The Haven (206 G.E. Patterson Ave, Memphis, TN, 30103): Through stories and shared experiences, we learn to understand one another better. The unfamiliar becomes a bit familiar and what we once feared, we learn to understand and embrace.   • Thursday, 10/11:
    • Tai Chi for Health Classes for LGBTQ Seniors, 11:00a-12:00p: Tai Chi  is low impact exercise perfect for maintaining and increasing flexibility. Maxine Strawder, a certified Tai Chi for Health instructor, will guide participants through Tai Chi for Health exercises. Classes will continue, so check out our facebook event or email us for additional days and times.
    • Seeking Serenity, 5:30p-6:30p: Seeking Serenity is an LGBT-affirming support group for the family, friends, and partners of addicts. For more information contact the organizer.
    • Bold and Beautiful 7:30p-9:30p: This is a weekly social supportive group for Transgender women of color. For more information contact Kayla Gore, Transgender Services Specialist. This week Bold and Beautiful will be attending Did de los Muertos (see below).
    • Day of the Dead; Die de los Muertos, 7:30p-9:30p: We want to use a traditional Mexican holiday to honor and celebrate the lives of our LGBTQ+ friends and family who are no longer with us. Join OUTMemphis to decorate our very own Dia Del Muerto altar, with paper cepasuchil flowers, sugar skulls  and pan de muerto.   • Friday, 10/12:
    • Delta TransMasculine 5:30p-6:30p: DTM is a group for trans men and transmasculine individuals. For more information, contact Kayla Gore, Transgender Services Specialist.
    • GenQ, 7:00p-9:00p: Generation Queer, or GenQ, is a social group for 18-25 year old LGBTQ and Allied young adults. For more info, contact Emerson Kirkpatrick, Youth Services Specialist.
    • Baile Del Colibri; Dance of the Hummingbird, 9:00p-2:00a, Azul Tequila Bar (4672 American Way, Memphis, TN, 38118): Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton, and Special Drag performances! Please join us for a night of Latin music and dancing! What better way to end Latinx Awareness Week then with a fiesta! We will have drag performers and a special surprise towards the end of the evening! Our theme will be tropical and colorful just like the Colibrí (the Hummingbird).
