Bringing our community together to learn, reflect, and organize around the urgent threats facing transgender rights and bodily autonomy across the country. We especially welcome our LGBTQIA+ community, trans youth, Black, Brown, and Indigenous trans people, trans men, and allies who believe in protecting the dignity and freedom of all people.
About the Film
Heightened Scrutiny follows fearless civil rights lawyer Chase Strangio as he battles at the Supreme Court of the United States for transgender adolescents’ access to gender-affirming healthcare. In doing so, he confronts not only the legal system but also a media landscape that often distorts public perception and threatens the broader struggle for trans rights.
With a dangerous SCOTUS decision upholding bans on life-saving healthcare looming over the nation, Heightened Scrutiny serves as an urgent call to action against bigotry and injustice.
Together, we will learn more about what current government actions and policies mean for our futures, our rights, and our autonomy—and how we can continue advocating for justice and protection for transgender communities.
